In the Village at Squaw Valley, 33,000 square feet of ground floor restaurant, retail, and gallery space greet skiers at the end of their day’s final run. The width, proportion, and sequence of outdoor spaces are carefully calibrated to provide an intimate, pedestrian experience, establishing vibrant retail nodes. Restaurants and other gathering spaces are oriented to capture the greatest number of hours of sunshine. The project, situated above 114,000 square feet of below-grade parking for 275 vehicles, reflects its mountain setting in a regionally appropriate palette of board-and-batten siding above a base of local stone.
