Campus Inn and Conference Center, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana
Hornberger + Worstell’s master plan and conceptual design for the Notre Dame Inn, a 190-guestroom, four-star lodge and conference center, goes beyond the original brief to resolve broader questions of campus organization. Strategically located at the edge of the campus, the Inn bridges between the classically ordered world of the campus grid and the more romantically disposed buildings along the lakefront. Framing a view of the university basilica, the Inn connects back to the heart of the campus, as, in its character, it recalls Notre Dame’s rich tradition of collegiate Gothic architecture.
