Design Principal
A graduate of Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning, Burton Miller has over twenty-five years of experience in the master planning, urban design, and architectural design of complex, mixed-use developments involving a broad spectrum of building types, integrating hospitality, living, working, entertainment, and the public realm. He has specialized expertise in the design of high-rise tower structures.
His work began at Skidmore Owings and Merrill, LLP, where he was an Associate Partner responsible for projects in Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore. His Asia experience deepened as Vice President and Director of Architecture for ROMA Design Group, leading master planning projects in Malaysia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Korea, Singapore, and the Philippines, as well as throughout California.
Since joining Hornberger + Worstell, Mr. Miller’s projects have included the Shanghai Park Hotel, Shanghai, China; the VIA Building, Beijing, China; the Beaufort Sentosa Master Plan, Sentosa Island, Singapore; the California International Trade Center, Sacramento; a Conference Hotel/Mixed-Use Complex Master Plan for Charlottesville, Virginia; the Charleston East Conference Hotel Project, in Mountain View, California; the John F. Kennedy University Master Plan, Concord, California.
Burton Miller has served on the Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee for the City of Mountain View, California, and is currently a Planning Commissioner for the City of Mill Valley, where he also serves on the Miller Avenue Precise Plan Citizens Advisory Committee and is Vice President of the Tamalpais Park Neighborhood Association.
