The Ahwahnee Hotel

Completed in 1927, the Ahwahnee Hotel is a National Historic Landmark and is among the most significant of the National Park hotels in the United States.

Hornberger + Worstell won a national competition to provide design services for the rehabilitation of the historic Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. Having been in near-continuous service for more than 80 years, the hotel was in need of repair to restore and preserve its architecture, artwork, and historic finishes. Hornberger + Worstell developed a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate the property, including adjoining guest cottages, and employee dormitory. The most recent phase of work on the site—the creation of a new Ahwahnee Bar and dining area—concluded in 2016.
